ESCAPE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026

This policy explains how Riders Against Domestic Violence (RADV) handles information through radv.org, its website communications, and its online shop. Contact RADV about privacy at wearethebridge@radv.org.

You do not need to share your story, create an account, or buy anything to read our public resources. RADV connects people with information and professional services; it is not a shelter or confidential crisis-counseling service.

Your safety comes first

The ESCAPE button opens a weather website in the current tab. It does not erase history, close other tabs, remove cookies, or hide activity from someone monitoring your device. Consider a safer device if yours may be monitored. Searches, emails, purchases, delivery notifications, and a RADV home-screen icon can leave visible traces. Read our Privacy & Website Safety guidance.

Information we receive

  • Messages: your email address, name if supplied, message, attachments, and information you choose to provide about volunteering, partnerships, orders, or other questions. Please avoid sending sensitive personal stories or unnecessary identifying information.
  • Orders: billing and shipping details, contact information, purchased items, order notes, transaction references, payment status, and refund or support correspondence. Guest checkout is available. Existing account records can include profile and order information.
  • Website activity: requests to the website can include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring addresses, and request times. Hosting and connected services can process these details to deliver pages, troubleshoot problems, and protect services.
  • Searches: search terms are sent to our website and appear in the results-page URL. Use general topics rather than names, addresses, or details of abuse.
  • Comments, where enabled: WordPress collects the submitted comment details, IP address, and browser information. Approved comments and display names may be public. Do not include information you do not want others to see.

How information is used

Information supports responding to requests, operating the website and accounts, processing and delivering orders, handling refunds, maintaining records, protecting against misuse, and understanding which referrals lead to shop orders. If you choose to subscribe through an offered email signup, the submitted details are used to deliver those updates. You can request to stop promotional emails or use an unsubscribe link where provided; transaction-related messages may still be needed.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to fulfill an order or request, meet legal obligations, or support legitimate operational and security interests. Where consent is required, that requirement applies to the relevant activity; visiting this site does not itself constitute consent to every use of information.

Cookies and browser storage

WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies or browser storage for features such as logins, shopping carts, sessions, and browser compatibility. Blocking these may prevent checkout or other features from working.

WooCommerce order-attribution tracking is currently enabled. Its sbjs_ cookies record session and referral details, such as entry pages, referring links, and campaign information. When an order is placed, attribution information can be saved with that order. These cookies generally expire at the end of a session; the session counter has a default 30-minute duration. Cart-session cookies can last about two days. Actual duration varies by cookie and browser settings.

You can review or block cookies through your browser settings. Changing settings or clearing history may itself be noticeable on a monitored device. Browser controls do not remove records already held by RADV or providers. See WooCommerce cookie information and order-attribution information.

Service providers and sharing

Information is available to RADV administrators and people assisting with the relevant operations. Providers process information needed for their services:

  • Hostinger: website hosting, email, and connected tools. Hostinger Reach code is loaded on the site for email-signup functionality. See Hostinger’s privacy policy.
  • WooCommerce and WooPayments: store and payment services. WooPayments uses Stripe infrastructure. Payment providers process payment credentials and fraud-prevention information; RADV receives transaction and order details needed to manage the purchase. See Automattic’s policy and Stripe’s policy. Do not send card numbers by email.
  • Printify, print providers, and delivery services: order and recipient details needed to produce and deliver merchandise. See Printify’s policy.
  • Website support and security providers: technical information or site records needed to maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the website.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or a valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or threats to rights or safety. An ordinary email to RADV does not have the same protections as a conversation with a specialized confidential service.

External resources, media, and the game

Links to shelters, helplines, Amazon, social platforms, training, and other websites lead to services governed by their own privacy practices. External images, fonts, scripts, or embedded content can connect your browser to another provider when a page loads, even if you do not click a link. DomesticShelters.org widget code is among the external resources loaded on this site.

The optional resource finder processes choices in the page without requesting a name or personal story; this does not prevent ordinary website requests or third-party resources from being processed.

Build Hope Together is linked as a separate game for adults 18 and older. Shared play involves a nickname, invitation code, and game activity visible to participants. Use a nickname that does not identify you and share invitation codes only with trusted people. Review any notices in the game before joining; a room’s availability period is not a guarantee that technical logs or backups are deleted at the same time.

How long information is kept

Retention depends on the record and purpose. Order information may be needed for fulfillment, customer service, refunds, accounting, tax requirements, and disputes. Messages and account information may remain while requests, relationships, or operational needs continue. Security logs and backups have separate provider-controlled retention practices.

RADV’s current store settings do not automatically anonymize completed or refunded orders after a fixed period. Those records can remain until reviewed or removed. There is not one automatic deletion deadline for all website information. Contact RADV to ask about a particular record or request deletion. Some information may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-related reasons, and backup copies may persist separately.

Your choices and privacy requests

Email wearethebridge@radv.org to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have provided, or to raise a privacy concern. Say what type of record is involved and how it is safe to reply. Do not send identity documents or sensitive details unless a necessary verification method has first been agreed.

We may need to verify that a request concerns your information before disclosing or changing records. Available rights, exceptions, and response periods depend on applicable law. Where those laws apply, rights may also include obtaining a portable copy, restricting processing, objecting to processing, withdrawing consent for consent-based activities, and complaining to a relevant privacy regulator. Withdrawal does not undo prior lawful processing. Providers may need to handle requests concerning records they control independently.

International visitors and security

RADV is based in the United States. Website, payment, email, and fulfillment providers may process information in the U.S. and other countries, where privacy protections can differ. See the linked provider policies for their processing and international-transfer practices.

No website, email service, or transmission method can guarantee complete security or confidentiality. Please limit what you share, use secure account credentials, and contact RADV if you suspect information you submitted has been misused.

Children and policy updates

Public educational resources can be read without submitting personal information. The game is for adults 18 and older. Children should not submit personal details through the shop, comments, or email-signup features. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact RADV so we can review and address it.

This policy may change when website features, service providers, or practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Contact wearethebridge@radv.org with questions.
