ESCAPE

Some mornings, you wake up and the sunshine just isn’t there.

Maybe you feel tired before your feet even touch the floor. Your heart feels heavy, your thoughts are cloudy, and you cannot explain why. Nothing may be terribly wrong, but nothing feels quite right either.

It’s okay to have days like that.

You do not have to pretend that you are fine every moment of every day. You do not have to force a smile, hide your feelings or apologize because today feels harder than yesterday.

Healing does not mean you will never struggle again. It means you are learning how to make it through the difficult days without losing hope for the better ones ahead.

Give yourself permission to slow down. Take a breath. Drink some water. Step outside for a few minutes. Talk to someone you trust. Pray if that brings you comfort. Do whatever helps you make it through today without demanding too much from yourself.

And if all you accomplish today is getting through it, that is enough.

Please remember this: one bad day does not make a bad life.

Clouds may cover the sky, but they cannot take the sun away. It is still there, even when you cannot see it. In the same way, hope is still present—even when you cannot feel it.

You have survived cloudy days before. You will survive this one too.

Be patient with yourself. Tomorrow is another stretch of road, and the sun will shine again.

Your best miles are ahead.
