By Riders Against Domestic Violence
Behind every number… is a name.
Behind every statistic… is a story.
Domestic violence isn’t rare.
It isn’t “over there.”
It’s here. It’s now. And it’s closer than most people want to believe.
The Reality We Can’t Ignore
Every year in the United States:
- 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience severe intimate partner violence
- Over 10 million people are affected by domestic violence annually
- On average, nearly 20 people per minute are abused by a partner
- A woman is beaten every few seconds
- Domestic violence hotlines receive thousands of calls every single day
These aren’t just numbers.
These are our neighbors. Our friends. Our brothers & sisterhood.
What the Numbers Don’t Show
Statistics can’t measure:
- The fear someone lives with every day
- The strength it takes to leave
- The silence survivors carry
- The courage it takes to speak up
And they don’t show how many never report it at all.
Because the truth is…
Domestic violence is one of the most underreported crimes in America.
Why This Matters to the Biker Community
Out here, we ride with a code:
- We protect our own
- We don’t leave people behind
- We stand together
That same code applies off the bike.
The biker community has always shown up—charity rides, fundraisers, helping strangers in need.
Now it’s time to stand just as strong for those fighting battles behind closed doors.
What RADV Is Doing
Riders Against Domestic Violence (RADV) is here to:
- Organize rides that support local shelters and help centers
- Connect survivors to real, verified resources
- Raise awareness where it matters most—on the streets and in our communities
- Build a network of riders who refuse to stay silent
We don’t just talk about it.
We ride for it.
From Numbers to Action
Statistics tell us there’s a problem.
We decide what to do about it.
You don’t have to be a counselor.
You don’t have to have all the answers.
You just have to:
- Share the message
- Support local resources
- Show up when it counts
Because sometimes the difference between silence and survival…
is knowing someone cares.
Final Thought
The numbers are real.
But so is the hope.
And there’s no stronger power than a group that stands together as one.
